Who is Daniel Dore Writes?

Our Story

I am a follower of one Lord, Jesus Christ, for 46 of my 64 years. I am a husband of one wonderful wife for 44 years; father to four awesome children, all married to great spouses; and grandfather to 13 super grandkids!

In 1990 we left our home state of NH to fly to Africa as missionaries. We lived in Guinea, West Africa, for most of 25 years. We first landed on African soil with our three children ages 2, 5, and 8; our fourth child was born in Africa in 1993.

Now you know why my writing has so many African themes woven into it. I have been writing for over 40 years, with the following credits:

I was the editor of the West African mission magazine for one year, and the editor of the Guinea field magazine for three years. I wrote several articles for both magazines, as well as crafting our family newsletter, each quarter, for 25 years. (Click here to sign up for my author newsletter.)

I have been published in the Keys for Kids devotional for teens, Unlocked, eight times in the past four years.

Three of the gospel tracts I’ve written have been printed by my home church for local giveaways and outreaches.

I am writing and posting regular blog posts on this website.

Prayer Requests

If you would like to pray for me, it's greatly appreciated! Here are some current prayer requests to bring before the throne of grace:

*Deciding whether to go the traditional publishing route, or to self-publish.

*Finding the right illustrator and book cover designer (if self-publishing.)

*Finding the right agent (if traditional publishing wins out.)

*Finishing book four in my current middle grade series on life in West Africa.

*Finishing four other book projects I am working on.

*Finishing two other gospel tract projects I am developing.

*To remember Jesus’ words: “I am the light of the world, whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

*To never forget the truth of Jesus’ declaration, “…without me you can do nothing…” (John 15:7)

*That I would love and cherish my wife all my days, know how to love and guide my adult children, and be a fun and loving grandfather for my 13 grandchildren.

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)
